Many special programs have been developed to meet the needs of today's children. Programmatic issues include: Attention deficit disorders, sexual abuse, learning disabilities, behavior problems, and loss suffered from death or divorce.
The Institute has addressed the unique challenges facing adolescents with a series of targeted programs dealing with substance abuse, eating disorders and behavioral problems. A special post traumatic stress program helps adolescents who have experienced violence, sexual abuse or psychological trauma. Family involvement is considered an essential component of treatment.
For the adult, The Institute for Family Therapy has created a program for survivors of family violence, sexual abuse or psychological trauma. Additional issues addressed include divorce, marital difficulties, depression, substance abuse and eating disorders.
